Got a chance to take a short jaunt (heh) to Ottawa last weekend. 8 or so hours later, we arrived at our dear friend’s place in Almonte, a sweet little town about 55 kms west of Ottawa. I always love coming here; the downtown is small but packs a whole lotta punch. The town is home to many artists and creatives; and this becomes obvious after even just spending a few hours here. Really, go on; I double-dare you.

Our friends have lived here over 5 years now; and last year they jumped on an opportunity to buy a home that was foreclosed on their street. They got a great deal on it, but of course, ain’t no such thing as a free lunch. The entire house needed a great deal of work. So, they rolled up their sleeves and got to it.
