…okay, not really. But my curiousity got the better of me when I saw that you could visit the London Hospital Dream Home and take a tour! Always love a good chance to snoop around…and they let me take pictures, so you can have a look as well!
First off, this place is HUGE. Not surprising, I know, since it’s valued at $1.3M but it didn’t actually feel huge because there were tons of rooms, each with its own distinct feel. The decor was contemporary, with some touches of, and a lot of white. I wouldn’t say it’s exactly the kind of house I would like, but I would take almost any of the furniture, you know, if someone was handing it out…The light fixtures were what made me swoon the most, but more on that later…
Of course, I didn’t have my tripod with me so getting great pictures in dim light was a serious challenge, but hopefully you get a good sense:
Loved those “worn” metal shelves in the top middle picture – maybe something we could do here? That top right picture is of an end table in the living room – so striking! And I see my love of chairs was evident when shooting these pics 🙂
So yes, the light fixtures. All very distinct yet with a strong theme throughout. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Would love to know where they got them.
I realize this is post is all about envy, something I probably shouldn’t be admitting to. But I enjoyed the visit the way a train enthusiast might visit an historical museum – with a appreciation for the kind of beauty that one is drawn to…
